Nothing really fancy today folks, just some work on my WIP and an evolutionary chart because I got curious.
First thing's first, evolution! I wanted to figure out how something like the Telaun came out of a lizard. So here we are!
Some notes:
1) Ancient Tel could climb trees, but were mostly ground-based.
2) Some trauma to the ground-based prey population had the Tel moving to the trees and becoming more arboreal.
3) Rudimentary language begins forming. This is where the Telaun get their apelike feet and where their evolution splits from the Tel.
4) Language is formed, and the use of pictures to record events is established. Scales begin shrinking in size, and the eyes move to face forward instead of sideways. Ground prey population is on the rebound, and the Tel lizard begins adapting back to the ground.
5) Tribes form. In order to look more fierce when disputing borders or whatnot, they smear themselves with paste.
6) Telaun no longer use paste (or any kind of war paint) but the style of their tattoos echoes the way the paste was smeared (symbolic/tradition). Almost completely tree-based, and find it hard to have any decent kind of running speed on the ground.
7) Modern Tel are as intelligent (or more) as parrots, and switch back and forth between functioning on the ground and in the trees.
tl;dr ground lizard moved to the trees, something happened and now Telaun are lizard-apelike :D
And now the WIP!
Mostly just figuring out the background, but the original sketch is all inked.
