Mel Odom's figures are sleeping androngynes, but if they are dreamers, their dreams are restlessly alive; if they're androgynes, then they're also obsessed with sex; if innocent, then also almost terminally sophisticated. Towards the center left of the picture, at a place where a diseased oak branch has had to be removed, appears a face somewhat reminiscent of a Maori war mask-perhaps imprinted here by a phantom from the dark days of the house-days which now seem departed forever. Cracking may occur with the paint rolled face out but it is considered that these cracks, the result of extension of the paint film, will close when the painting is returned to a flat plane on a strainer or stretcher. It is often used to impart a better gradation of tone from light to dark. The trajectory of your life has changed.
okay, being at work, in an art gallery, all my books are art related. the last book had to be switched as it turned out there were no words, only pictures of naked people. i will have to try this one again sometime, it was fun. thank you djkaela19.
