Laura Kennedy, original bassist of legendary '80s funky post-punk band Bush Tetras, needs a liver transplant due to Hepatitis C, so next Sunday, October 26, 2008, Cake Shop in NYC is hosting the Laura Kennedy Benefit Show. $15.00 minimum donation. This night will feature Bush Tetras (augmented by no-wave legend James Chance, Andy Haas of Martha and the Muffins, and Nona Hendryx) in their final New York show; as well as Certain General, Band of Outsiders, Radio I-Ching (Haas, Chance and Tetras drummer Dee Pop), Command V (Tetras singer Cynthia Sley with Pat Irwin of The Raybeats, Eight Eyed Spy, and The B-52's), Bell Hollow (acoustic set), The Sediment Club, Mikey IQ Jones, Julian Stockdale, and a closing jam including NYC scene luminaries Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group), Ivan Julian (Voidoids), Rob Norris (Bongos), Deborah Frost (Brain Surgeons); plus DJ Dirtytrickpony.
