Website frustration!

Well, at least I can say I tried it. But WordPress didn't work for me. With my host (Strato) it was just soooooooooo slow.
Besides the huge time it needed to just load some article I just don't get how to template my blog. I tried for days and read a few guides, but it seems I'm just not made for WP.

I've been searching for a simple CMS, or a news script or just a blog - with categories and tags - but whatever I tried out, the templating sucks or I miss some features I can live without.

It's driving me crazy.

Now I've reuploaded a backup of my artfolio and thought 'Hey, how about sticking with CuteNews and just upgrade it. There are categories and tags now!" WHAT A STUPID, STUPID idea. The new CuteNews sucks as well. The tags don't show up, no more avatars - just category images instead - and I (as the admin) can't find and read my really old posts. Once archived they are kinda gone from the dashboard. With the old version I was able to reactivate even 2 year old news. Using a pagination at the end of my most recent news, that was just great. It's GONE!

*sigh*

As soon as Rainer is done with eFic5 he needs to strip the script down to a simple CMS. And I have the feeling he's gonna hate me for that wish, since eFic5 swallows a lot of his free time already like a black hole.

I just wish I'd understand php.
