Here we are at week 2 for Unraveling. This week's assignment was to photograph our reflection somehow, and do it in such a way that it revealed something about ourselves at the same time; who we are, where we live, what we do, etc. My photo is again at the bottom.
The writing portion was to identify what roles we have in life, which two we like best, and which we could change if we could, and what one we would add if we could. Ready? Let's go!
My roles are: girlfriend, artist, friend, daughter, mother (to my animals) model, photographer, painter, costume maker, jewelry maker, provider (again, mostly to my animals) creator, healer, wounded, patient, unicorn, animal nurse, shoulder to cry on, listener, priestess, advocate, student, writer, singer.
The two I like best are girlfriend and artist. Having love and feeling loved are just about the most important things to me. I like identifying myself as Geoff's girlfriend. I feel proud that I get that title :) And I feel that at my deepest, most core self, I am an artist. In whatever way I'm expressing it at the moment, that is who I truly am. It's important to me to know that about myself.
If I could, I would change "artist" to "artist who makes her living solely from her art." It's a small but important change... but I think I'll get there :)
Lastly, I would add "Reiki Master" to the list. I'm on my way to that one also. My first Reiki class is later this month, and while I have a very long way to go before I'm a Master, this is the first step to that goal.
Week 2 done :)
This one is titled Old Muse, Meet New. The girl in the frame behind me has something to do with it :)
