District 9

Awesome movie. Character development, expansive backstory, true plight, hope, and very good action sequences. I loved it. For only spending $30million, the graphics were surprisingly good. It should rake in a hefty sum over the weekend, and they deserve it.

That movie was adorable. Scott and I decided to see it instead of G.I. Joe because of reviews from friends who'd seen Joe. Not disappointed with our decision in the slightest.

Completely and utterly amazing. I think this one will be added to the list of highly respected Sci-Fi movies of all time. It shows the ugly truth of humanity as a species and a different side to how 'aliens' are portrayed for the most part. Can't wait for the sequel!!!

I might be crazy, but I don't think Squirrels would have been so crazy about the Prawn either.

On the flip side, humans as a species are the only living beings capable and willing to show compassion and be such to a level of self-detriment. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to the individual.

Food for thought :)

LOL no, I just really am cynical and hate humans for the most part. :)

So do I, but I don't cling to false realizations to justify it.

It brings me back to a discussion I had with Arthur about the Prawn co-existing with us. They are "hive" type insectoids with no concept of ownership. You can't just throw them into society and expect them to get by. It would be a very difficult situation to figure out, possibly an expensive one. Granted in the movie it was far from being handled well, the point of the film is not a satire for "how 'aliens' are portrayed for the most part" as you seemed to claim (unless they have a very skewed perception).

BUT all opinion is up for debate and I think we can pretty much agree that the movie rocks (epicly hardcore) and people suck (even if we might disagree on why). :)
