Honeymoon!!
So I just got home, well I got home a few hours ago, from my honeymoon in The Keys. Our resort was on Duck Key and it was gorgeous!!! It had everything! Downstairs had a full kitchen, dining room and living room, laundry room, and half bath and two bedrooms, two bath upstairs, the bedroom on the front had a balcony. There was also a fenced in back patio, half covered/half open with a private hot tub that could fit 8 people. Did very naughty things in that! There were 2 pools (one for adults only) and a lagoon, which, if I can explain what it looks like, was almost like a very tiny private beach. Like a little ring, with water on both sides. Man made of course, but it was made to look like a beach, complete with beach chairs and little tiny fish, then the other side was the actually real ocean, which boats just passed by. The water was so blue, but unfortunately wasn't clear due to the hurricanes that went through a week before. There was a spa, and a bar, a fancy restaurant, you could go snorkeling, or swim with dolphins, or so fishing. There was a library, and a gift shop. All kinds of goodness. Basically our week went like this:
Took us about 5 hours to get there. We had two villas, cause some friends of ours had come. Derek and Melanie, Gerrit and Julie, both couples, which made things alot easier in the end. we check it about 8-ish, the go eat at the fancy restaurant. It was funny, cause it was one of those places were it's all quiet, except for the really soft background music, and we all felt the need to whisper to each other. We had this really gay german guy for our waiter. I had the best fillet mignon ever!
Monday: Halloween: Everyone woke up early for breakfast, then Melanie and I got an 80 minute massage! It was AWESOME! Then we did the steam room there for a few minutes, then hit the spa's hot tub, took a shower, then went back to our rooms where Riley made his "famous" tacos, then everyone ended up in my hot tub drinking.
Tuesday: Woke up early, found an IHOP for breakfast, then drove to KEY WEST. Had ALOT of fun there. We stopped first at Sloppy Joe's, had some drinks, then we took a trolley ride around the island, maybe for about an hour, went through a pirate museum, then went to the west coast of the island and watched some street performers, and then the sun set, bought some tickets to do a ghost tour for later that night, in the mean time, we had a few drinks at Irish Kevin's Pub. Back at our rooms: It started raining that night and everyone got in their hot tubs in the rain. That was fun!
Wednesday: Lazy day, the couples pretty much did there own thing. Slept in, went to the pool, read, sat in the hot tub, whatever. Riley and I got a couples massage. Then everyone meet up and we went to Marathon for diner. We found this really excellent pizza place, so good!
Thursday: Another lazy day, woke up, everyone went to the pool together this time. I got to lay in a hammock for the first time...now I want one! After swimming for about an hour, and laying in a hammock for about 30 minutes, Riley, Gerrit and I decide to go back to the room. Everyone else is laying out in the sun. Riley and I take a nap, then get woken up by Derek to let us know Melanie cooked diner for us. We played the slowest game of scrabble ever, then watched Team America. Then we all decided to go to the adult pool for one last swim together before we had to leave.We took one car this time and Gerrit rode in the trunk (Back story: the only way to get to the pools is to go through the main lobby, where everyone checks in) So, of course, Riley drops us off at the front door and Gerrit pops open the trunk and gets out like it's completely normal, at the same time, a family of 3 are walking down the stairs as we're all getting out. LOL!! When we got there, there's no one at the pool save for these naked fat people out and drying off. I saw fat man's ass with a fat gut hanging over the front. He looked like a real life version of Peter Griffin from Family Guy. We all just kind-of turned our backs to him, until they left, pretending to look at the stars and shit. When we got back to our rooms, Riley and I made use of the hot tub one last time -=evil grin=-
Friday: Packed and came home =<
It was sooo much fun. We want to do the same thing for our one year. Well, this or a cruise
