The show last night was unusually a great time for me. It was the best time and most fun I've had playing on stage in a really long time. There weren't a whole lot of people, but that was kind of the catalyst to our good performance. There weren't a lot of people when we started so we were just kind of like 'fuck it lets have fun' and we did and as more people came in I just let more and more out. We were the opening band and we played with two other pretty wacky bands, one in particular; Reverend Glasseye (www.reverendglasseye.com) I enjoyed a lot. They sounded kind of like System Of A Down without the 'metal' crossbred with a pirate-esque band. That type of music usually isn't my cup of tea, but they were all great performers and really brought the music to life and I ended up buying a cd.. I even gave some guitar effects tips to the lead singer/guitarist who was very receptive and polite. The other band was Midwives and they were um..ok? It was the type of music that I just don't get, but I respect them for getting up onstage nontheless.
The venue also had this uber homo rule about how the bands had to stay the entire night until all the other bands were finished playing to load up their equipment. I'm actually somewhat glad the rule was in place because it allowed me to hang with the guys and have a good time, otherwise we would've all booked it out of there 15 mins after we were done playing.
Overall I think we all had a good time, which was much needed for us I think. The set went like this if you give a shit about things like that:
Look At The Skies
Wither
Mother
Suffer
Song Of Our Souls
Star
Sun
Hello
God Wanted
