Chaplet for the Dead Gothic Rosary Necklace
A magnificent 4-decade style Rosary, based on a design used since the 1800's to pray for the deceased (4 decades = 40 beads, representing the forty hours which Christ is thought to have spent in Limbo between the crucifixion and the resurrection, plus 5 introductory beads as on the Dominican Rosary). Sparkling faceted jet black Czech glass beads with ornate antiqued pewter caps compose the Aves, with 6 round antiqued silver plated hollow filigree beads as Paters. The bottom features a beautiful 1 1/2 inch (3.5cm) high antiqued nickel plated crucifix and matching openwork Sacred Heart connector. A length of sturdy rhodium plated chain allows the necklace to lie comfortably across the back of the neck. No clasp, it can easily be slipped over the head. Connecting components are rhodium-plated.
