nothing beats a day in the pool like a night at the drive-in

Yesterday there was an all-day pool party organized by B.--- and when I say organized I really mean mass texting at 8 am. I got there at 1 in the afternoon and ended up staying until the pool closed at 6. I'm usually really good about sunblock, but occasionally I forget that if I'm going to be at a shadeless pool area for multiple hours, I need to reapply the sunblock all day long. So now, I have a bit of a sunburn. It was a great day though, and at a different (and smaller) swimming pool than I usually go to, the pool which we had actually been in late the night before.

Directly from the pool, some of us went back to B's house to make dinner and then go to the drive-in just outside the city. I had never been to a drive-in before. I saw a couple of really dumb movies, but the company was great.

Today I went to punk brunch and helped cook Cuban food. I had a lot of great conversations and was loaned a jar of sunburn salve. Then I went to see a documentary about the metal band Anvil.

Despite everything, I have some great friends here in Pittsburgh.
