Stupidity

Before I even write this one I need to explain something else.

A lot of people fall into the way of thinking that parents are victims.

"Because children are so awful and I never want one, so no one must."

This post will not sit well with you if you can't seem to understand that people think differently than you. Also while I'm on it there is NO ideology spiritual or political that is innocent. So don't sit there thinking yeah those republican/democrats/conservative/liberal/Christian/Muslim/Jewish/Agnostic/Atheist deserve lambasting you are all guilty as well am I. But that is a rant for a different time.

I get mad at parents so regularly its laughable. Its the schools fault, its the music, its the media, its video games. Its odd how rare we hear blame correctly put out there, the parents allowed the media to raise their child and were not happy with the result.

So today I got a familiar complaint one I have gotten before. "I don't want my child to be punished for his behavior" I have had to bend to this parent twice before, this parent even tried to talk this kid out of trouble when he assaulted a fellow student. "He must have said something to get hit" and that makes it ok? I sit in the classroom and think about how I would never DARE to half the things that the students do now. Accountability has gone bye bye in this feel good world. Its so easy to blame companies and other industries for our children's horrible behavior. The proof is in the putting with this as well "My child killed all those people because he played a violent video game" here is a parent STILL making excuses for their child after doing something wrong. THAT is the problem every time little Johnny did something bad you bailed his little ass out, when he called out for attention you ignored him, you never listened you only worried about saving face.

This also highlights the only me attitude. Forget the fact that my child has been disrupting the entire class and keeping them from getting anything done its my job to save them from accountability. No one wants to think about the group anymore its all me me me. Think about it when someone commits a crime they are only seen as a villain when they can be associated with a group. Conversely crimes against groups are not seen as evil ripping off a community isn't nearly as evil as ripping off a single person. The only caveat to this is when you can see each victim, or one large group terrorizes another. So blaming a parent who is one person is wrong you need to find the large GROUP to blame vis a vi the media or other entertainment outlets.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, well the village doesn't wanna get sued so we have to back up. fuck it up on your own jack ass.

The good of the many outweigh the needs of the one.- spock
