Try three days in Newark!
Yup stranded because the airline said we have no crew. Then two days later bumped us from our flight. Finally left on Tuesday to arrive in France on Wednesday. Luckily we got additional days so it wasn't a total loss.
I did a lot of things I haven't done or seen.
Before we launched (while in Mordor) - went to the Museum of Natural History.
Also saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway
We stayed at the Amsterdam airport for WAyyyyyyyy tooooo long (over 8 hours)while we waited for our flight to Toulousse.
Upon arrival:
Weather was clear, sunny in the 70/80s
Saw beautiful Carcasonne, the walled city
The museum of torture in Carcasonne (best quote ever from Roberta - "if
it ain't broke, don't fix it")
also the monastery at Racamodour (my favorite place)
St. Cecil in Albi
Cave paintings at Lascaux
Caverns in some place I don't remember. :-) That was cool
gorgeous Southern france
traveled by bus, subway, train, boat (both above ground and below
ground), stairs, hotel transport, and walking
Then Paris for two days.
I actually went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and looked down for a
nano-second. All the other acrophobics should be very proud!
Other sites in Paris were the Louve, the Catacombs, Notre Dame, more
churches (got a little blurry at that point), Montmarche, a lovely paris
outside cafe, and a boatride down the Seine.
I'm sure I have forgotten something.
Fun filled!
