How can I say this without freaking anyone out... "I HIT A DEER TODAY," well actually by now it was yesterday. Anyways I'm fine and so is my car. I was driving down Broidman Rd (40 milesh) near Vandyke when it happened, it's a dirt road there and it was around 10ish so it was dark. I was going 35mph when the deer leaped out in front of me. It was a narrow road with a lot of brush on both sides so I didn't see it untill it literally was right in front of me within a few inches maybe a foot or two max of my bumper. I then slamed on my brakes and swerved to the right (towards it) so that I was moving less in its direction, and if when I hit it slid more across the side of the car instead of being hit up over ontop and through the winshield. The deer then went crashing into the ditch as it spun around, tripped and disappeared in the underbrush. After stopping my car I was expecting to see my front bumper and hood badly damaged, but was suprised to be unable to find any damage. It wasn't untill an hour later in a gas station that I found the blood and scruff marks caused by it (but I'll have to wait untill light in the morning untill im sure there's no damage) and actually find proff that i did indeed hit it. Anyways to make a long story short both my car and myself are fine; although any news on the condition of the deer are unknown.
