Happy Mother's Day

May 10, 2009 21:50

Although here in Hungary we celebrated Mother's Day last week, many countries -- including the US-- celebrate it today. In honor of that, (instead of studying!) I put together a picspam of my favorite ladies -- who all happen to be mommies. Julie Andrews, Marg Helgenberger and Jeri Ryan with their children.

And Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on my flist! :)

Note: Might be image-heavy for some, depending on connection.

I'm starting this off with said ladies pictured with their own mothers because first and foremost, they are all daughters, too.

Julie with mom Barbara Morris.

Marg with mom Kay Snyder.

Jeri with mom Sharon.

Julie as a mom, with her first (and only biological) daughter, Emma. She was born a few months before shooting of Mary Poppins began. Little trivia, Walt Disney wanted her so bad for the role he agreed to delay shooting until she would give birth and would be back on her feet.

Marg with her only son, Hughie. I always loved what a cute little redhead boy he is!

Jeri with her second child, Gisele. She turned one this past March (I guess the info on the photo indicates that LOL). Anyway, woohoo she's a Pisces, just like her Mommy (with whom I share a birthday :p). Go Pisces.

Julie with a newborn Emma and Marg with a very tiny Hughie.

Both photos are of Julie and Emma on the set of The Sound Of Music. I adore both. Unfortunately the second one isn't the best quality but humor me. It's just sheer cuteness.

Marg and Alan with Hughie.

Julie with Emma's father, ex-husband Tony Walton... with whom she's still good friends with. ('Cause seriously, can you expect anything less from Jools? lol)

Julie and Emma in Austria during filming of SOM and Marg with a very cute Hughie from the family album.

Marg with Hughie at a public appearance and Jeri taking her first born, Alex (now 15) to a movie premiere. It's hard to find good photos of Alex because he doesn't seem fond of cameras.

I told you he doesn't seem to be fond of cameras, LOL.

Julie's actually a mother of five. When she married director Blake Edwards, he brought his two kids into the marriage, Jennifer and Geoffrey. And of course Julie had Emma. Apparently life in the Edwards' household was a big mess at the beginning and like every step-parent, winning stepchildren over was quite a task. Eventually it all worked out. Julie's not only a successful actress and singer but an author as well and her very first book was dedicated to Jenny (who was indirectly involved in its creation. The story was initially written for her).

Julie goofying around with Jennifer and Geoffrey on the set of Darling Lili in 1969.

Left: Although they tried for years, Julie and Blake couldn't have a child together, so they adopted two girls from Vietnam in the 70's. Amy and Joanna. Right: Jeri also brought a child into her new marriage with Christophe Eme and she gave birth to Gisele last year. (Alex's father is ex-politician Jack Ryan who had to pull out of the race for candidacy, hence giving way to none other than Obama)  Apparently Alex was mortified when he found out Jeri was pregnant, he was shocked to conclude Jeri and Christophe were having sex already. lol

Julie with Joanna (I believe). Apparently the photos I posted of the Edwards' (with Amy and Joanna) were taken by actor Peter Sellers.

Julie with her five children (Top left to right: Amy, Geoffrey, Emma, bottom left to right: Joanna and Jennifer) and Marg out with Hughie, who's sporting a pretty cool leather jacket. :p

Kids grow damn fast, eh?

Emma all grown up.

Jeri attending the American Idol finale with Alex in 2007.

Jeri and Christophe were married in France in 2007. Alex is sitting on her left. According to Jeri, Gisele was a real honeymoon baby.

As far as I know this is the most recent photo of Alex, when they attended the Max Payne premiere.

Left: This is the most recent I could find of Hughie which is one or two years old ( I forgot). He's now 18, left for college and *gasp* he's sporting a beard lol! Right: Julie with Emma Walton Hamilton, who's now a mommy herself. She's co-author of many children's books with Julie.

Amy (left) and Jennifer (right) behind Julie at the Academy Awards in 2004, when Blake Edwards received his Honorary Oscar. Julie's now a granny! And one of the most gorgeous ones I've ever seen. :p

Thanks for viewing!
