This one took me a while.
Don't get me wrong, I was prepared for how different it was from the Harry Potter books, and I did enjoy the read immensely, but for some reason it took me a while to really get "into" it, and it was a much slower read than anything else I've ever read from Rowling.
It was also heartbreaking. An "idyllic" English parish town with so many secrets only a ghost (or a handful of very angry teenagers) could bring them all out into the open. And more dislikable characters than I think I've ever encountered in a single story. *sigh* And all that said, I still liked it!
