Okay, here are some photos taken right around the area where I live. They really do not do it justice. I plan to take more later (hopefully before ALL the leaves have fallen). I also plan to take some this winter when it's super snowy and the river is mostly frozen. My parents haven't seen anything like it, and I promised them some pictures

I have a friend who plans to take me snowshoeing. =) He's experienced, so he knows all the good spots. I'll be sure to bring my digicam so I can gets lots of pretty photos! =) And I'm glad you enjoyed these. ;) They really don't even show how beautiful it is. I want to get some photos with better views of the moutains. It often hard to see them from where we are b/c we're right smack dab in the middle. =P LOL

Lots of hard core mountain climbers here. ;) LOL I'm not one of them. I like hiking, but I've never really done "climbing". I know a few people who do though. And they're really involved with it. =) Amazing outdoor folks up here, really. ;)

Sounds like you'd love it here. Honestly, the outdoors is the big reason a lot of people come here! I've met many students that came to study here due in part to the skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, mountain climbing, hiking, etc. etc. We have a nutrition professor here who has climbed Mt. Everest, and he teaches a mountain climbing class each summer. =)
