Update on life, more as a means of organizing my own thoughts than anything else.
1. Got the job modeling for figure drawing classes, but don't really start until mid August. Thus I'm still searching for a secondary job.
2. Dan mills came to Austin. We had a ball, and I drove him to the airport today and he in on his way back to Long Island. His visit was a refreshing break from the norm around here.
3. As much as I love my friends and family in Austin, this city no longer feels as safe and homelike as it did in high school. I guess that's only natural, but it's also unsettling. I find myself feeling closed-in, spaced out and ever-so-slightly detached from things, and mainly just end up lurking aimlessly in coffee shops and book stores. I really cannot wait until September when I fly back to Boston and more personal freedom.
4. The upside to having more than enough free time on my hands is that I'm writing and drawing again. I've missed that, and am amazed by how great it feels to purge my head of thoughts, ideas and creative frustration.
That's all really. I feel slightly better now.
P.S. i've been listening to abserd amounts of Warren Zevon over the past week or so and love it.
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum
Hoist the mainsail - here I come
Ain't no room on board for the insincere
You're my witness
I'm your mutineer
I was born to rock the boat
Some may sink but we will float
Grab your coat - let's get out of here
You're my witness
I'm your mutineer
Long ago we laughed at shadows
Lightning flashed and thunder followed us
It could never find us here
You're my witness
I'm your mutineer
Long ago we laughed at shadows
Lightning flashed and thunder followed us
It could never find us here
You're my witness
I'm your mutineer
I was born to rock the boat
Some may sink but we will float
Grab your coat - let's get out of here
You're my witness
I'm your mutineer
You're my witness
I'm your mutineer
I'm your mutineer...
