And now for round 2.
First of, as far as non-super powers go Jak is still pretty damn tough. While his actual level of strength is unknown, I portray Jak as someone who is capable of handling an arena full of leather-wearing beefy Mad Max-knock offs and survive. Which he does in canon actually, in a death-match arena filled with LAVA. Love my canon. Jak is GOOD at fighting barehanded. His style is a mixture of Power Kickboxing and Muya Thai mostlyshamelessly ripped off ofborrowed from various fighting games mixed in with flipping acrobatics and other tricks. He has shown a high level of hand-to-eye coordination and is able to do ninjatricks like walljumping and grabbing ledges in midair when falling down from great heights. His strength is most likely superhuman in some regard. Jak is a marksman, a jet-skater and a fierce driver, which means that his reactions are tip-top as well. He is simply capable if kicking the ass of anyone in his range.
Equipment: Jet Board. Hovering skateboard, good for tricks and assorted stunts.
Weapons:
Shotgun: Your garden veriety shotgun.
Wave Concussor: Gun which fires a shockwave into the ground, tearing it up and hurting everyone around him.
Plasmite RPG: Big gun of boom. Nuff 'said.
Blaster Rifle: Ordinary automatic rifle. Can shoot in burst-mode or one-shot-mode. Lethally accurate.
Beam Reflexor: Bouncy gun. Like ordinary blaster, except the bullets can bounce around the stuff it hits for multihitting justice. The way I play, it comes with a certain lock-on mod which means it won't cause friendly fire or hit Jak himself.
Gyro Burster: Launches a teensy UFO which vomits bullet death all around and eats up ammo like woah. Not Safe for Allies in any way.
Vulcan Fury: Mini gun. Everyone loves miniguns. If you don't you make Baby Jesus cry.
Arc Weilder: Laser cannon which acts like the bad-ass big brother of that energy gun in Ghostbusters. Extra Lethal to mechanincal enemies, but will burn most everything it touches.
Needle Lazer: It's a minigun. Which fires lasers. Homing lasers. Homing. Laser. Minigun. Jak loves this one. he loves it so very, very much.
Peace Maker: Spiraling shot of Electric Death. Homes in, blows up and spreads chain lightning all around. It's beautiful.
Mass Inverter: A tricky one. Causes the area it hits to entirely lsoe it's gravity and momentum, meaning it hovers harmlessly in the air. Neat.
Super Nova: Mini Nuke. Will kill even Jak if he's too close. Once again, 'nuff said.
And now, for the powers, all who were briefly described before.
Blue Eco. Jak goes fast. This isn't really super-speed per se: not at all at par with Impulse or Rock Lee. It's actually kind of hard to tell how fast it is. My guess is that it makes your absolute top running speed your ordinary speed, from how Jak moves and others react. There are other benefits with this though: communicating wiht machinery for instance. This makes him become able to operate them, open doors, activate hovering platforms, etc. Not really sueful in a fight though. other things he can do is to draw things towards him (health-ups, pwoerups and so on) and crush crates just by standing near him.
HOWEVER. This is in the first game. In all the other games, the only Eco's you ever use are Light and Dark. This doesn't mean he can't, however: it's just that the programmers couldn't figure out a way to put them in the game and make it work. So my guess is that he has improved these abilities somewhat in the years between this game and the others, but since we never really see him do this... it's mostly guess work on my behalf. And I'm trying, really, to not make him overpowered or anything, so if there are any tips or so you want to give me, crit away.
So. Blue Eco. He is fast, that's for sure. This can't really change in my opinion, with the possible exception of him just being faster. As for now, I estimate his top speed to near that of "slow blur". Not quite "flash out of view and appear on the other side of the room", but not quite "you can actually see the fist coming", if that makes sense. As for machinery, he can power his own computer without any trouble at all, no real change there. Now, for the telekinesis. We see that Blue Echo can lift heavy boulders in canon, attract things and break an average sized crate (about as large as a MGS-sized cardboard box and made out of metal). SInce I figure Jak is better at learning stuff with his body than his mind, I figure Jak is able to lift, manipulate and break something of that approximate size from a distance, but not much more. No lifting entire mountains in the air and make them come crushing down on you.
Red Eco. Eco of power. Makes you big, strong, tough, what have you. Jak takes down monsters with a single punch, and breaks large barriers of rubble with his fist. Is also made much more resiliant. The way I play is that Jak has trained himself in this much more than the others: He is thus able to lift objects much larger and heavier than himself, break an average persons ribcage with one punch, and punch straight through solid trees. As far as taking punishment goes, the average human's punch will hardly face. Someone like Clark Kent will make him go soaring, but he's not gonna go out with one hit. He would probably be on even footing strenght-wise with the ninjas (taken as an average instead of a single ninja since there is such a wonderful diversity between them.)
Yellow Eco. This one get's the least amount of screentime in the game, and it really just makes you shoot fireballs. I figure that Jak is not that interested in training this one, since he already has so many wonderful weapons at his disposal. Still, it's really hot fireballs, they're homing, and the explode. BAd stuff, but for the moment that's all they can do.
Green Eco. Oy vey. This one has me wondering. Jak uses it to heal himself and regenerate. That is all we see him do. But the Sage, the expert in handling this ability is able to communicate with not just plantlife but even rocks,, most likely affect nature in some way, sense life-forms and purify beings from the corruption of Dark Eco. And since Jak is primarily trained in this, considering he was raised by the Green Sage, he SHOULD have a natural aptitude for it. But since we don't really see him use any abilities, I'm going to go by the explanation that he hasn't really bothered to train as much as he wnats to. He can heal other's and himself of poisons and injuries, communicate on a very basic level with plant-life, and is just maybe equipped with an iffy sort of seventh sense.
I play him as able to hear and sense ghosts and spiritual beings, but not see or clearly define where they are. Also, he can slightly sense chi and such things, which can lead to him having those wonderful shonen manga scenes where people stand and stare at the protagonist while he powers up and go "AAAGH HOW CAN THIS POWER BE IT IS UNREAL OOOOLIOOOOLIOH CRAB BATTLE!" and so on.
And with that out of the way, what will REALLY take up space. Dark and Light Eco. Excited? I sure am.
Dark Eco. The big change in Jak's life. This is what makes him go very, very angry in the second game, and for good reason since it's being forcefully injected into him and Dark doesn't go there.
Basically, Dark Eco is the Eco of Death. If it touches living matter, said living matter evaporates. It apparently warps the people who use it as well, gradually changing and mutating them into something not-quite human. It can only be contained in pits of metal nad rock, since no organic material can hold it. The powers Jak use are as follow: Dark Bomb in which Jak slams his fist in the ground and creates a shockwave and several groundbound tendrils of lightning, which pretty much kills everything on the ground.
Dark Blast in which he starts spinning like a top in the air and shoots out tons of energy bolts all around. Kills everything in sight. These moves completely drain every single unit of energy he has and reverts him back to ordinary Jak. And lastly, Dark Strike. Think "Hadoken" and you're on the right track. Highly destructive bolts of dark energy which generally fuck things up. Not as far-reaching as the others, but doesn't deplete his powers.
After that, it's all status effects. Jak can become invisible, invincible and really, really huge. Invisibility is only activated when he's standing in front of a crystal of some sort, but seriously: there's no explanation at all as to why this is. So... I'll just treat it as Something The Programmers Couldn't Be Arsed To Explain and give him that ability whenever he desires to have it. Invincibility and giant Jak is something I've given some thought of however. I've decided that, because Jak changes physically, his entire body somehow becomes Dark Eco when he transforms. Instead of organs, skeleton and such things, he is made of Dark Eco, and is as such indestructible and controlled entirely by will and not biochemistry. Basically, him becoming huge is him letting the Dark Eco take more control. Jak does not use any weapons in this form beside his own claws.
So, on to Light Eco. This is not mentioned terribly much in game, and there is no sage that we ever see in game. His powers are: growing angel wings and flying, creating a shield which blocks out all attacks thrown at it, somehow displacing himself outside the flow of time and healing. I have dubbed it "the Eco of Control", because Green already holds the title of "Eco of Life". My take is that Jak once again becomes a creature controlled by will, and that this will is what causes his powers. He doesn't fly through strength alone, he wills gravity to temporarily let up. He doesn't slow down time; he wills himself to avoid it. And his healing ability... well. I don't really have an explanation. It just works for him. This form can handle weapons and equipment, which means he can put up an invincible shield and totally shoot you in the head at the same time. Haw haw.
And now, to wrap things up: how does Jak stand up to camp?
Canon: Baddest motherfornicator in the whole game. Might not be as strong as the absolutely strongest creatures, but he is capable of taking on an insane amount of enemies and walk away practically scratchless. He tops the universe.
Camp: Hard to say. Depending on how smartly he uses his powers, average to high. Could take on any human, and Dark briefly allows him to play at the mid-high level. If say... a scale of D to S is used(Oh videogames how you have tainted my thought process), going from D,C,B,A, and then S, with D being average human and S being Kenpachi, he would hover in the lines of B and A, barely.
Permission: Give me all your fighting, all your kicks and punches too~. Seriously, rock my casbah, anything goes.
And that, I believe, is everything I have to say on that matter. Now for something completely different. RELATIONSHIP MEME. Comment here and Jak will tell you what he thinks about you right now. Loves you okay GO. Except I'm totally not going to reply for a while. My fingers hurt right now.
