Lazy Crystal is lazy
Let see...it's been a month and I've really done nothing really important. Just the usual go to work, come home, sleep, repeat. There have been mini-dramas at work, but I'll only bitch about the one that has been bugging me. It's the most recent of them, so of course it's forefront in my head.
Okay, so I'm trying to cross train people at work because frankly, a cross trained person is worth more to me than someone who can only work on position. plus, it usually grants people more hours since they can do all sorts of jobs which is really handy in the winter when hours are usually cut way low. Plus, the kid had been begging me to throw him in grill, and I finally deemed him good enough at service to start cross training. No big deal. Right?
Fuck no.
My first mistake was thinking that I would be able to train someone on a Sunday night. I know, you'd think we'd be slow, but it would seem that we were hit. And of course, he was bitching about it and my service person was being semi-supportive at least. Something I could deal with. So this weekend rolls around, which we have two people in grill, although Saturday had my little plan of keeping my trainee in grill all night because of the pressing need to have back booth open lest I suffer the wrath of my store manager. It's bad enough that I'm apart of a little side manager drama over wasted salads and I really don't need anything else right now. (I swear, everyone in the place is so damn petty. Drama over the fact another manager took home wasted side salads instead of throwing them away.)
So he gets back there with one of our best of the best grill people for the last half of the night again. I'm thinking great! He'll have an easier time this week because he's learning from our best grill person. Oh how wrong I am. I totally didn't expect the 'bent over the counter rape fest' that happened last night, which had everyone down. I personally think that he did a damn good job back there considering, although I have my service person who seems to have forgotten how much he sucked in the beginning, telling everyone that he didn't think that we could afford this.
Wait. What?
Oh that's right! Back when he sucked, he was still waiting on his ride! Which came everyday at 6 and so he had to leave. Leaving the rest of us (whoever was working with him as the second crew and the manager) to cover his ass and stay to 6:30-7:00 am ever fucking day of the week while he went home as soon as he could get out of there! This time, we have the whole shift to help out! And instead of realizing that we all had a bitchy ass night, he goes around pissing off my trainee who has taken to yelling the fact that he's never been with a trainer and all this shit that's the same old song and dance.
NEWS FLASH: none of us had any crew trainer with us when we trained! My training was the videos, which really didn't fucking help at all. And even then it was only the video for fries. I learned everything else on the fly, and let me tell you all, learning initiating during the lunch rush? Not fun. At all.
I expect him not to be perfect, I expect a couple of bad nights. Whatever. He's learning. That's what counts. He'll get frustrated, he'll want to just walk the fuck out some days, but really, it's not as bad as it really could be. Ug. I gotta fix this in the next two days I work because really, this is getting annoying and it only started today.
Besides that, I've been trying to write again, and not really getting anywhere. Sketching seems to be moot point as well, since proportions and myself aren't getting along again, but when has that been anything new?
Here's some good news: I'M GOING TO SCHOOL THIS FALL!! YES! I just need to get my finical aid crap all figured out since they still haven't sent me my paperwork and so I'll have to go up there sometime this week to get it and make copies of my taxes, but that's really the last step I have to do! I'm taking a lot of interesting class. :D
