Eh, this will sorta go in order. First thing's first, got the internets back, which I am very excited for. And cable, oh how I missed cable. Now I get all those channels to flip through and say that nothing's on! Oh how I missed that feeling. Hopefully that doesn't happen too often, but then again, won't be surprised when it does. Either way, totally excited about that.
In NaNo news:
think I'm awesome, although this is nowhere near as impressive as it will hopefully be at the end of the month. Just gotta keep myself from spending too much time surfin' the web/watching tv to write. I'm sure I'll figure out some way. :D
Youmacon was a blast, like it was in 06 when I went. And this time a whole hell of a lot less drama, thank God. didn't cosplay this time, but it's still all good, as Chris decided that all of us who went are going to be his 'my size barbies' for next year. I don't know whether to be excited or scared about that, but I'm sure it won't be too bad. I say that now before the making of the costumes begin.
Thursday was "fun". Mostly because A. Had no internet to contact my friends. B. I worked the night before and had insomnia creeping up on me, damn thing is still here. I hate insomnia, so much. C. pile that all together and that makes me wake up late. Was going to get up at noon, but since all of us overslept, didn't get up until 3. Didn't help my ringer on my phone was set to low, so I missed the calls that I got. In retrospect, I really should have checked that... So, got everyone over here eventually, went food shopping, and was on the way to the hotel.
Except none of us remembered the room number in the car I went in, so we had to wait until the other car got there so that we could put our stuff away. At least it was just that and nothing too major. Worse came to worse, there were a lot of other things that could have gone wrong. So, we made it, all five of us, and made it before the real scramble for the elevators began. We saw a lot of hotel staff up and about, since it was devil's night and all, but really. Anime con people aren't that stupid, or so I like to think. Every once in awhile.
Friday, woke up and stood in line to get the badges, and was just amazed at how much the con had grown. Admittedly, I didn't go last year, but damn! It's so much bigger than when I first went, and I'm pretty sure that it's just gonna keep on growing to at least about ACEN level which is scary, but still cool. Also saw two Duo cosplays, which made me wish I did bring mine, since my first con, I was the only real Gundam Wing cosplay, although I'm happy that there were others too. And I just love insane con people. Nothing like 'em
I totally don't really recall what happened after that, or in what order I did the panels, but that's alright. I did end up going to the Yu-Gi-Oh! panel, which was rather amusing. And toured the really, really small dealer's room. Artist Alley was a nice size, recognized a few from 06 Youma, and Neon Dragon was there which made me squee. One day, I'll be able to draw fantasy like that. like when I actually get the mind set to practice I hated the fact that the dealer's room was so small and crowded, like the hotel didn't realize just how big this con was going to be. There were a lot of other conferences there too, and a wedding (although I think that was Saturday), although I think they learned their lesson for next year. Hopefully. I want more dealers in a less crowded area! Kthxbi~
Inwhich, I lost most of my group and went to the room to read Hellsing, which I can't wait for volume 10. Ug. The manga selection wasn't that great either. None of the new volumes seemed to be available, so we all went to Fairlane on Saturday to get some, although still waiting for Yu-Yu 17 I think it is and Loveless 8. Oh well, I think those are my rewards for 30,000 words. My notebook with all that crap is in the other room and yet again, laziness abides.
...I'm realizing how little sleep I actually got this con. *shakes fist* DAMN YOU INSOMNIA.
Went to Midnight Madness and Anime Hell, where I have to try to find some of the fan parody dubs to put on an entry later, because those are priceless. Although I was a little disappointed that they didn't show Fisting the North Star, but the one parody sub made up for it. *needs to start writing down their names* Oh well, still a flippin' blast.
Saturday, the con was in full swing. Mostly wandered around and bought stuff. Like some posters, a few decks of cards, a black Mokona plushie, a black Mokona back pack/purse thing, and some other plushies. Went to the Masquarde, which was entertaining. Although still hate the award ceremony, because I always seem to get bored out of my mind. Missed the dance this year because sleep depervation finally made me sick enough to just pass out, which was alright. the only bad thing was that I woke up around 5, but didn't want to wake anyone else up to find a room key/my badge to go down and watch Nabari no Ou (which I have all the subs for, but whatever) and so I stared out the window and watched the factories. And stared up at the ceiling a lot. *grumble* damn insomnia.
Sunday was awesome, all because of the Potter Puppet Pals and the extravaganza that was the elevator jams. going up to go down so that you and your luggage fit inside with a bunch of other people. I really hope they aired those out after most of the con was left. Because really, they were starting to smell at 9 in the morning. And felt like they were suffocating.
After all that, went out to lunch and let my friends browse through the tubs o' porn that crystal collected on her trips to Japan. Otherwise, stayed up all night, have been sleeping crappily 4 hour slots ever since.
Next year, I'm so saving up more money and taking the day after off so I don't feel like I'm dying and it may actually help in getting my sleep schedule back on track somewhat.
At least work the past two days have been good. Got out at 5:10 today and 5 somethingorother yesterday, so yay! No getting yelled at about over time for me!
It's so time for bed. XD
Peace,
needs to get her word count up more psycho
