¡Jo'é que caló!

Or, joder que calor. Or, fuck, it´s hot. Either way, true all around. We're breaking 100ºF daily, which is just all sorts of fun on the third floor with no a/c. Yesterday I was searching out metal things and tile walls and such, hoping they'd be cool. No luck. All quite warm. If I could spend all day in the shower, I'd be pretty content. But the internet café has mild a/c, so I've been frequenting it more than I thought I would. I'm kind of out of things to look up, though.

I head to Madrid very soon, though, and the weather predictions for there list the highs as being under 100, so i'll be good. (Barcelona has highs in the 80's, which is going to be just chilly in comparison.) I'm planning to do the museum circuit in Madrid, of course. I'm pissed, though. There was a show on German Expressionism at the Thyssen, and I was all excited to see it, but it only went until May 15. If I had known that, I would have made a weekend trip up there. And now it's replaced by a show on Corot. Don't get me wrong, Corot's all fine and well, but really I just don't care. *sigh*

In other news, I found out my Art Theory grade today. *drum roll...* Matricula de Honor, that´s right, a 10 on my final and an overall 10 in the class. The only one (that´s what matricula de honor means), because I rock like that. Basically, because I pulled stuff out of my ass, like crediting Pseudo-Dionisius' aesthetics of light with starting the whole trend of religious symbolism in architecture that really took off during the Romanesque and Gothic periods. Did we talk about that in class? No. Did it hit me during the test itself, and I figured I might as well pretend it was totally valid? Yes. Could it actually, possibly be valid? Sure, who knows. Iconography grades aren't posted yet, though, because that's the super-slacker teacher. Which means I get to wait until mid-October to find that out, and to find out what the final verdict is on my Contemporary grades (he was gonna give me a break if I did well, which I did, now I hope he remembers...).

Ugh. Tonight I basically have to pack my suitcases and 2 boxes to ship off tomorrow morning. Last night I cleaned (ish) and basically threw away a bunch of the clutter that's been making this whole packing-up-and-getting-the-hell-out-of-here task look a lot harder than I think it's really going to be. Hopehopehope. It's that it's hard to do anything in this heat. I sit in front of the fan, and I sweat. I did go buy souvenier type things today though. T-shirts and such. Ooh, and stickers for my car. :)

Gah, I´m bored. My knee isn´t particularly better, either. Went and got some arnica for it, which may or may not be helping. It only hurts when I try to turn and stuff, which means I can usually walk okay once it's warmed up, and I have no problem with spinning class (thank god... the gym has a/c too :-D ). It's the simple things, like turning to get up out of a chair that make me think it's going to give out and I'm going to fall over. Come to think of it... that's exactly what the other one used to do before I fucked it up big time. Woo. So, I might be getting some nifty surgery this summer/fall. Fuck.
