You are a gesture born to steal
Responses long-time hidden in the heart;
And as you pass those you pass by can feel
You part of them, and that the sweeter part;
You move among them--sunray amid flowers--
An April sunlight dripping through the showers.

Yes, I have seen you leave a room,
Have watched their amorous glances following;
The light seemed paled as by a sudden gloom,
And each heart knew a quiet sorrowing:
Watched one, unknowing, rising to pursue
Only to bid you at your door adieu.

I bought this book entitled The City of Canals and Other Poems by Evan Morgan at a small book shop in Chelsea that has vast amounts of beautiful old books. This particular book was printed in 1929 and it's age shows beautifully. There is a two volume set of Don Quixote that was printed in 1828 that I really want to buy. It seems so priceless and gave me goosebumps when I found it in the shop because I just thought of all of the people who might have owned it in its lifetime and then I was amazed that the two volumes were even still together. It was only 15 pounds for both so I might have to go back and purchase it later this month. I think I may take a picture of the poetry book because I love it and I think it's really a charming book with a great cover.
