My my, how time flies...
I can hardly grasp the fact that it is now June 1st. Where did this year go and how is it half over? It's strange how the older I get the faster the years go by.
I quit Blockbuster, finally. There really was no way that I could have stayed at that store this summer. I got the internship with the church and I already love it so much. It's such a different atmosphere when you're working with believers than being surrounded by people who have no clue of what truth and love are. I know that I probably could have been a positive influence in the lives of those people, but there was no way I could put up with my manager using innuendos and dodging this other guys attempts at asking me out. I just don't think I could have survived that for an entire summer.
Day 1 on the job was good. I worked with JJ and Adam to get things for the Florida trip ready. It might be different when David gets back and I work with him to plan things for the junior high. But I think I will still really enjoy it. Today Adam and I got to work at a little after 10. We worked for maybe two hours and then we went out to lunch with JJ and Pablo for about an hour and a half. When we got back from lunch, Adam and I ran errands for an hour and a half or so. When we got back we spent about 20 minutes in the office with JJ, and then we headed home a little bit before 5. Tough day, huh?
Tonight we've got to write two bible studies for the Florida small group times. I'm looking forward to that. I love the fact that I got to spend the whole day with my brother. That may change a month from now, but that's seriously the longest time I've ever spent with him in a long time. He's a great guy.
Tomorrow should be fun too. We need to spray paint the Iron Chef awards for the competition in Florida, learn the office aspect of the job, train on how to use to copier and intranet, and finish the booklets for next week. Another tough day. =)
