Once again… Folks who are just not secure enough in who they are, crush those of us who are comfortable with who we are….
Next week is the “Colleague Appreciation Week” here at work (formerly Employee Appreciation week.)
The theme is “Summer Fun” So all week they are allowing Employees to come in to work wearing their favorite summer clothes (No bathing suits, short shorts, etc….) But flip flop’s, sandals, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops will be allowed.
My idea of summer clothing is Kilts, I don’t wear shorts except around the house. I think I own 1 pair of shorts. I own 6 kilts. I was advised that, much as I was told before, Kilts will still not be considered appropriate clothing attire for the coming week’s events. I was told if I really wanted to go further up the chain of command and fight it, I could, but was told it was not recommended.
So next week, The employees will get to wear their summer clothes to work. So I can either go buy shorts and join them, or say fuck em and just wear my normal work clothing. Luckily jeans are considered summer clothing.
