(sighs) This is really belated... mindwarp April 16 2010, 12:37:17 UTC
Aigh, I've had this in my inbox to reply to for a while, and just kept forgetting. I suck. :^(

Anyway, I can't make it to Nashicon, because I can't get to Columbia. :^( Most of my club is working - in fact, one has to be at work tomorrow for the anime club at her library branch, since she's in charge of the club (oddly enough, my club all work for local libraries, which is how half of us met the other half). I have been pimping it to my otaku patrons, however - it helps when I know all of them and they all know that I'm one.

Re: getting anime fans to watch live action shows - I keep trying. I did get my friend who's got her library club tomorrow hooked on ROOKIES, and she's slowly making her way through Kiva (I used the really hot cast card to get her to watch). Movies tend to be easier, but even Den-O didn't work (although I will make said friend who's watching Kiva watch all of Den-O eventually, since she does love Takeru and all of the seiyuu involved, and she does love Imagin Anime, go fig). I don't know which I will inflict on our group next - Kamen Rider The First (yes, I know fandom opinion is mixed on it, but I liked it (shrugs)) or HeartCatch PreCure (because I can't believe I'm hooked on it and need to inflict it on them, especially my one friend who is trying to avoid it because she can't believe Bandai could do anything girly - she's clinging to her Gundams (g)). Which drama are you getting your group to watch?

Re: cons - AWA tends to be the only one I can get to and afford. Working for a county library does not equal good pay, although my branch is so busy I think I still have job security. (sighs)

Re: friending - sure, just be aware that (mostly thanks to work - my branch is the busiest in the state, seriously) I tend to be somewhat inactive, mostly because I'm dead tired.
