Weird computer glitches

My computer runs a virus scan every Thursday morning. This morning, it ran as normal, as did my Windows Update, which apparently needed to restart my computer to take effect. I don't baby sit my computer, so sometimes I click on things and then leave the room. This, apparently, leads to my doom

I had Word crash on me once and an autosave document didn't automatically come up the next time I ran the program, but I remember going to hunt for the file "manually" and being successful. I think this is more or less where I looked:

Even if it didn't bring it up automatically, it *should* have stored it somewhere. But if you start writing with Word again for any length of time, it might replace the old autosave document with whatever you are working on at that time.
