Work changes
I so rarely post here anymore, hurr. Random life update.
The job I'm currently doing will go away at the end of this month, since the contract is ending. I'm awaiting an offer letter which I'm told will be coming soon for me to move to a different location (further north, in DC) at the beginning of next month. Most of the people I work with should be basically migrating to the new location, so I should still be around some familiar faces there. And the job should be somewhat similar to what I already do, but probably with more to do. I likely won't be working nights anymore, most likely ending up on a daytime schedule. A typical Mon-Fri gig, boo. I liked my 3-day 'weekends' every 3 days for the past couple years. The commute will be longer too, and I'll have to find out what option will be the best, depending on price, and how it meshes with whatever schedule I end up with (In terms of driving, taking the bus, or taking VRE/metro)
So all of that will be happening at the end of this month. The upside is I'd be off in the evenings every day, and have the actual weekend off like everyone else. Probably holidays too. Also, the distance should only be temporary, as in 1-2 years our operations will be moving to a building very close to where I work right now. So I'll be able to basically make the same drive I do currently, at that time. Whee. Hopefully the entire ordeal won't be that bad. Hopefully I'll hear some more solid details soon, rather than later.
