“Oh?" Schneizel raised an eyebrow. " You’re refusing me, Kururugi-kyou?”
Suzaku bowed his head, as was demanded by protocol in the presence of royalty and held out the meticulously wrapped gift with both hands. “I…It’s not proper and-”
“So rewarding a loyal and dedicated vassal is indecent? Inappropriate?”
“Of course not,” Suzaku protested, sounding vaguely horrified.
“Then there should be no problem with me showing favour to my subordinate.” Lifting a hand to raise Suzaku’s still bowed head, Schneizel smiled, amused by the widening of Suzaku’s green eyes. “Now allow me to spoil my faithful knight.”
Schneizel leaned down for a kiss. “Happy birthday, Suzaku-kun.”
