So after we evacuated the building, I went with Tom and picked up the oil cap and a fire extinguisher (just in case my car really catches on fire) AFter eating lunch he drove me to the Kmart parking lot where I parked my car.
So I figured that I would take pictures of my car - just in case. (see episode 1) Since I was right by the Kmart, I went in and bought a disposable camera and some paper towels. I figured that I'd drop off the camera at the one hour photo in Kmart and go back to work - picking up the developed pictures after work. Of course, things cannot be that easy and it turns out that Kmart's photo machine is not working.
So I drive around Herndon, VA for 1 hour trying to find a 1 hour photo place. Do you realise how hard it is to find a photo developer place?! Along my journey, I hit a Target,Safeway, and Rite Aid none of which had a functional 1 hour photo place.
BTW, for those of you not from Virginia - Herndon is famous because it has an officially sanctioned "day laborer" center that caters to the illegal immigrants. This is controversial because it is the first official day-laborer service. Of course I passed the 7-eleven that hosts the day-laborer site on my quest. (The day-laborers were playing soccer)
FINALLY, I find a CVS pharmacy with a 1 hour photo center! So as soon as I walk in, I find that there is a young woman lying unconcious on the floor. The only thing going thru my mind at that time is - WHY DID I HAVE TO LEARN CPR??!!!??
Fortunately there was guy over here holding her in the "recovery position" and he had his ear against he mouth to make sure that she was breathing. She also seemed to be somewhat responsive so I figured that they guy had everything under control and I wouldn't have to put my CPR training to the test. whew!
On with the quest! So I stepped over the lady on my way to the phot center - which fortunately was working. Whle I was talking to the girl behind the counter, the paramedics arrived and they started to work on the lady - just 10 feet away from me. Well it turned out that I had over 10 pictures remaining in the camera, so I had to take pictures. I really felt tempted to take a picture of the lady with the paramedics - but I figured that that would be an asshole thing to do - so I didn't.
After dropping off the camera, I had to walk over the paramedics on the way out.
Here is a random picture I took at the the CVS pharmacy. Just from looking at the picture - you wouldn't realize that there was an unconcious woman being attended by paramedics just 10 feet away!!!!!!!!! Human psychology can be quite weird!
