"You're an idiot."
For once he forgets that Mordred is faster than he is. In one blind movement he slams his brother's back against the wall. "Shut up. I'm tired of hearing that."
Mordred looks up at him, not with fear but with a strange glittering in his black eyes. "So don't tempt me."
"You're a mouthy little bastard," Agravain says, but it's not worth it; arguing with Mordred is never worth it. He lets up. "Shouldn't you be off with your pretty-boy friend?"
"Sagramore? He's abandoned me for women. Just like you."
"What the hell's that supposed to--"
Then Mordred is on him-- slender arms around his waist, mouth pressed to his, too close, too gentle. It's frightening how little it seems to matter, how hard it is to push him away, how easy instead to kiss him. His back is still to the wall; he sinks back against it, and Agravain pins him there without knowing why. It's enough that he's there, that he can't get away.
Then he breaks the kiss, twists free like a snake, out from under and away. Agravain stares at him, sense returning. "You're disgusting."
Mordred laughs at him, contemptuous. "So are you."
