TWO GREAT TASTES THAT GO GREAT TOGETHER!

So I was having a thoroughly crappy night tonight.

-My roommate had her friends over, so they kind of took over. Again. (Not that I mind that much- they're nice and all- and if it were just that, I wouldn't have a problem... but I can't study when they're here. And this is the second night in a row it's happened ( Read more... )

"Hating a team because they win does not make you "edgy". It doesn't mean that you're "different", "unique", or "anti-conformist". It just makes you a douche, and it makes you really fucking annoying. No matter how badly they may have lost tonight or last night, the Yankees don't suck."

Hating a team because they win also makes you a douche. So does liking a team because they win. Bandwagon jumpers, in general, suck and should go DIAF somewhere.

"In fact, unless your team is the Rangers, the Yankees beat your team."

And, technically, every team in the NL, because the Yankees have little (if any) bearing on them. Even if the Yankees were to win the World Series, that doesn't necessarily mean they're better than the ENTIRE NL. *technicalities go here*

All that said, and coming from a strictly baseball-fan point-of-view (especially because I didn't see the game last night and I have no idea what the final was), I get your disappointment, but just because you bought all the awesome players doesn't mean anything. Sometimes it really is about something else, and sometimes fate just doesn't go your way. *shrug*

Yep, pretty much. I just... there were a ton of people on Facebook, most of whom grew up in the Bronx and just got sick of the Yankee fans (which is understandable), who were bitching out the Yankees and avidly rooting for the Rangers and talking about how awesome the Rangers' players are and how they're gonna beat New York so easily and everything and... you know, if you had asked most of them where the Rangers are from two months ago? They wouldn't have been able to tell you. I joke around about it, but in seriousness, if you don't like the Yankees, I'm cool with that. But when they're really, seriously, cheering for, say, Hamilton, just because he got a home run against the Yankees and for no other reason? That annoys the fuck out of me. Bandwagon jumpers really do need to just go die in a hole somewhere. DX

...I meant you in the general sense up there. Not, like, you. Just so you (specific) know. XD

...This is true. The Yankees don't have much of a bearing on the NL. If they were to go on to win the World Series, they kinda beat the entire NL, because they beat the team that beat the rest of the NL, but... I take your point, and I stand corrected~

And we went over this on Facebook, but... I'm just frustrated that my team is putting so much money into their players, and they didn't do as well as I'd hoped. But I also still acknowledge that it was a hotheaded comment at a point of anger, with several things building up on each other.
