It's odd, every time I tell someone I love the Harry Potter series, and I want to try to read 1-6 before I start 7, and that's why I'm being anti-social and sticking my nose in a book, the person who I'm telling always finds the need to tell me that the Harry Potter books are awful, and take up my time so that in a period of time (assembly) where I could have read at least 20 pages, I've only read two. Well, people can say that all they want, meanwhile Harry Potter is our generations cultural phenomenon, like the Beatles were to our parents generation, J.K. Rowling is the world's most widely read woman ever, and on the 21st the entire country will be basically shut down because everyone will be reading Deathly Hallows. And if you don't like Harry Potter, well then you can just kiss my ass, because it's one of best and most popular books of any genre of all time.
You can tell, I'm not in the best mood.
I should be in a good mood though. I woke up happy today, my alarm clock radio thing was playing Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. It was raining, and even lightninging, which was awesome. Then I got up, and everything that morning just went really well.
Did I mention it was raining? It was raining a lot. So much so, that Queens was so flooded we were stuck in Queens for over two hours because of the flooding. At 10:00 when camp started, we were still in Queens traffic. I didn't get to camp until 10:45-11:00. From there, the day just kind of went downhill, starting with when I found that he wasn't there today. Then I found that I forgot to pack lunch... life just kind of sucked.
It wasn't all bad though- during assembly Musical Theater Rep. did one of their scenes, and when they first came on stage, I saw Sammi and decided to tease her to hell and back (in a good way!) because of her costume which was fairly ridiculous on everyone, but she's the one there that I know well enough to do that. Then I saw Johnny. He was dressed up as a girl, singing about how beautiful he is. Yes, I realize that's hypocritical, but I will never forget today's assembly...
Life could be worse though. And to cheer everyone up, here's a funny picture!
