(no subject)
Holy crap, do I need new glasses. It's been on my to-do list for so long that my prescription expired and I had to get a new one before I could continue picking out frames. Lamesauce!
All summer, I've been sneaking out of the lab every now and then to try on frames. My child-size head is hard to fit; my current glasses are size 41/18 and most adult glasses are sized 48 or higher. Normal-sized lenses like that make me look cross-eyed, but my 41/18s are actually a little too narrow. Hooray for learning about glasses! I've also found out that semi-rimless frames look pretty good on me. What don't look good are the big rectangular glasses with funky temples that are so hot right now. Well dang. So I'm thinking semi-rimless modern cateyes, because: awesome. Browsing through the Kliik catalog, I see these:
YES PLEASE WANT PLEASE SEND ME THESE KTHX. Optometrist calls the company. Though the frames are listed in the company's current catalog, they no longer make them and don't have any left in the warehouse. Effing hell! I have been to six places and haven't found anything I like better, so I am reduced to buying them from a shady online company that claims to be located in New Jersey but has comical English mistakes all over their website. We will see if they send me the frames or just run off laughing with my money. Here's hoping for the former, because OMG HOTT!
