Keating’s eager voice calls out and echoes off the classroom’s thick walls, the students’ thicker skulls. The educator’s wild eyes stare expectantly out, desperate for a sign - any sign of understanding, or agreement, or rebellion. Hell, anything. But nothing satisfies him; two dozen blank eyes fall comatose together. Like cows to the slaughter, Keating muses. Morose. The low bell bangs, rattling the class, and the disease breaks.
“Class dismissed.”
