Some little girl's just want to go home - For No Way Back

Dec 13, 2011 00:32

((For bamf_pointman, continued from here.))Settled into his seat, Eames was more than content. The seats were large and comfortable, with plush padding and so many perks. First class usually brought more attention than he chanced, but it was nice to be indulging in in with Arthur. Especially to be indulging in it with Arthur. It was a delicious indulgence, ( Read more... )

Arthur settled back into his seat, turning his phone off for take off and leaving his laptop bag in the compartment above their heads. They had at least a thirteen to sixteen hour flight ahead of them to Skiathos, Greece and that meant a long thirteen-sixteen hours of stolen touches, kisses, sleep, free alcohol and bad airplane food ( ... )

Stretching his legs out before him, Eames settled in with a soft sound of contentment. He could definitely get used to this. Reaching over, he lightly touched Arthur's hand before settling back into his seat.

"I think you'll let me get away with a lot," he said, sounding smug at that fact. A possibly very true fact even, though he was having more faith in it than actual knowledge.

Usually, he didn't allow himself the comfort of first class very often either but this time around - with a long flight ahead of him - he was glad to be indulging. It was even better that he was indulging in it with the man sitting next to him.

Arthur stretched out his legs and buckeled his seatbelt once his cuffs were rolled up. He allowed one corner of his lips to quirk up at the touch to his hand before giving Eames his full attention. "You'd like to think so, wouldn't you?" He was fairly sure that there would be a lot of 'getting away' with things now that they've taken this step.

The doors to the plane were closed and Eames settled back. He didn't mind flying but he knew the statistics about taking off and landing, after all. Glancing over at Arthur and winking at him.

"Oh I do think so. I have more venues to get the things I want now," he pointed out.

"I suppose you do," Arthur granted with a soft chuckle. "Already started in on the text messages." And the groping. He had the very strong feeling that things were going to become much more interesting from here on out now that they've taken this step.

"Oh that was nothing, and you much too much enjoyed taking it the wrong way," he pointed out, tsking ruefully. Turning his head as they began to taxi, he frowned.

"That was a bit odd," he said softly, mostly to himself as he thought he saw a girl walking up by the cockpit though she shouldn't have been out of her seat.

Arthur shrugged a shoulder and turned to look out the window as they taxed down the runway. "You love it," Arthur responded with a smirk, not turning away from the window.

It was only when he heard Eames' softly spoken words that he turned his attention from the window to the man sitting next to him. "What was?"

"You hope so," he said in a bright way, though he was still looking down the aisle to the front of the plane.

"I..." He considered his words. "Seeing things," he said, shaking his head. "Thought I saw a girl up by the cockpit."

Arthur chuckled and settled into his seat, folding his hands in front of him. He drew his eyebrows together as they made lift off. "A girl?" he turned to look at Eames. Obviously no one could be up there, everyone was in their seats for lift off. He was fairly sure they would have heard something if there had been a girl -- right?

He made a bit of a face, knowing just how entirely crazy it sounded. The thought alone didn't sit well with him after all they'd been through.

"Probably just my mind working overtime," he admitted. "Suspect it'll be doing that for a while."

Arthur glanced at him and reached over to give his hand a quick squeeze. "You and me both, I imagine," he admitted before taking his hand back and resting it on the arm rest.

"Yeah. Just an overactive imagination," he said, laying his head back. "I'll understand if you have no idea what that is."

Arthur resisted the urge to roll his eyes and rest his head back on his seat. "No idea what that's like," he responded, dryly. He closed his eyes for a minute knowing the first class attendant would be coming by soon enough for drink orders.

His eyebrows drew together when he thought he heard a girl giggle from near by. There weren't any children in first class -- was there? He opened his eyes and briefly thought he saw a little girl in a white dress skip out the first class area.

Arthur turned to look at Eames to see if he had caught that or heard that...

"I know. You poor thing," he intoned, tsking softly as he shook his had. "When you were a kid, a cardboard box was just trash and not a castle," he said, though there was a teasing smile on his lips. What had once been a jab had definitely taken on a much different tone.

The giggle was missed by Eames but then he saw a flash of something, blinking as he leaned a bit further into the aisle. He looked to Arthur, catching that look.

"Side effects of the kind of drugging we must have gone through would be what?"

"Actually, a cardboard box was usually used to store and pack things up. These included items and books I was either no longer interested in or wanted to store for later," Arthur said with a teasing smile playing on his lips; being the ever knowing smartass but a little fonder.

Arthur shook his head, meeting Eames' look. "By now, it should have been out of our system. As far as I'm aware, we wouldn't have any lingering hallucinations/delusions." He paused and tilted his head. "Well --" he nodded before continuing, "if you saw what I did, it would certainly not be in the form of a little girl in a dress. It would be bugs crawling over our skin or aliens out to get us and tell us the secrets of the universe..."

"You poor, poor thing. We'll have to build a fort sometime," he said brightly, likely meaning it more than another might. It would show up in a warehouse one day and he'd expect Arthur to play.

"Why not the form of a little girl in a dress," he asked. "Why was it a Caribbean woman before and that psycho hammer bird," he challenged, watching Arthur and trying to act casual about it all, even as his heart raced.
