Weekend:
An absolutely frenetic Friday, and I had terrible transport luck. Late buses, full buses, insane and unseasonal lines at the train station, and I nearly missed the train. Then, of course, the train was delayed by an hour an a half, because our train had to wait for commuter and freight trains to pass before we can go. I understand about the commuter trains, I guess, they are just full of people trying to get home. But I hate, hate, hate that freight, i.e. stuff, is more important than passengers, i.e. people. There is something fundamentally wrong with that.
The rest of the weekend was spent chilling with family. I didn't end up going out Saturday as
josh_vanity was feeling sick and everyone else in the family was all about relaxation. That was fine with me, especially as I will be back in a month (with
strtmyorange in tow, and we will definitely be going out then). Mum
jane3tis drove me back Sunday night, and I finally got to see some fall colors (as the Chicago area has been mostly just green, yellow and brown this year, and I have been missing my oranges and reds). We had a lovely early evening with
zincandcopper and T, and just look at the house:
Halloween central! I love it!
Mum stayed over Sunday night and left yesterday, and I took yesterday off, which was nice. We had a relaxing morning and early afternoon to hang out.
And now I'm back, and full of Halloween cheer (yes, there is such a thing). Look at the pics I snapped last week of Pumpkin (Daley) Plaza:
It's just right that I live in a town that loves Halloween as much as I do.
