Unrelatedly, the deep thought that's been playing at me for a few days now:
Every man is allotted one lifetime in which to create a masterpiece. One thing of which they can say 'I made this, it is myself, and I am proud of it'. Many men forget this and spread themselves out across many endeavors, creating small accomplishments instead of a single great work of art. And while some despair, thinking that they can not possibly create a masterpiece, they manage to raise the most wonderful, intelligent or compassionate children, still others take the opposite approach and assume that because they have had kids their masterpiece is created and they can stop trying, not even bothering to raise their kids appropriately.
A part of me believes that I have wasted so much time, creating nothing, working on nothing. But then i realized that to even know this so early in my life is surely an accomplishment. And the more I thought about it, the more I realized that i HAVE been creating. My mind has always been geared to the imaginative, to the fantastic, to creation. I have only to discover a medium through which I can show the world what I see in my mind. I wonder if that medium is children.
