But you are sooo right on this, you really are, about the kiss thing.
"And I realized that part of the reason I find slash so much more addicting than het is that there's always this feeling that I have to fight for the slash couples. I have to write my own kiss scenes. It has very little to do with finding man-on-man hot. On the very rare occasion that there's a canon slash kiss, it feels so completely precious and right. I get this rush of euphoric relief that finally, somebody went "screw the rules" and gave these characters everything they deserve."
Exactly. Exactly. I am literally in the middle of an episode of TOS and the whole time I'm sitting here thinking that Spock and Kirk are like, so married. But we never get anything real, you know? I mean, I know Star Trek came out in the sixties, and had like dinosaurs and shit back then, but still. A lot of shows still don't have the guts to do it, so I'm glad this "Torchwood" does.
ALSO the bit about it's more than finding guy/guy hot, becasue it IS, at least for me. <3
