Happy birthday,
lyricalecho! I wrote you this fic in honor of the occasion!
"Osiris!" He hears Hanna before he sees him, the slap of awkwardly huge shoes against the pavement. When he turns, he sees the excitable redhead barreling towards him.
He waits until Hanna catches his breath. "What's up?"
"Ohmygod, it's so awesome," he says. "We have a mission, and it doesn't involve anything that'll try to kill us, most likely!" He grins up at him, letting the silence hang between them.
After a few seconds, he realizes that he's supposed to guess what their mission is. Sometimes Hanna thinks around corners that he didn't even realize were there, and it takes that extra awkward moment to catch up. "Um...I give up." He really does have no clue what it could be. They're so good at getting themselves into life-threatening situations; what else could there be in this business?
"I was walking down the street, and this girl came up to me." He bounces on the balls of his feet as he talks, as if the news wants to escape faster than he can speak. "Get this, she actually gave me a hug! It was so sweet! And then she was saying how it's her friend's birthday, and how she'd be so happy if we went and said hi to her and stuff, and oh my god Osiris she was so nice, so guess what we're doing today!"
He blinked. "...Why would some random girl want us to say happy birthday to her?"
"Hell if I know. Come on!" He motioned to him, then took off back down the street. "We have to get everybody together!"

"No." Conrad refused to look up, because as soon as he did, he would see Hanna and his annoying huge, persuasive eyes. He could not allow himself to be swayed yet again.
A Hanna is a stubborn thing, though, and this Hanna was not going to accept a simple 'no.' "Conrad, it'll be fun!" he said, ducking his head so that it was a few inches from the vampire's.
Conrad jerked away from this blatant disregard of his personal space. "It's not fun, it's creepy! Why would this girl want -"
Hanna threw his arms into the air. "Doesn't matter!" he crowed. Then he went back down and shoved his face directly into Conrad's. "Pleeeeaaasssse?"
For a moment, Conrad was paralyzed. All he could do was stare at the manic look in Hanna's eyes and wonder why there were suddenly little flowers floating around them. Too soon, he felt his resolve crumble in the face of insanity. "All right, fine, I'll do it."
"Yay!" Hanna pulled away and did an awkward sort of happy-dance. "Come on!"
Conrad's eyes rolled up, and he promptly fainted onto the table.

"I don't mind," Lamont shrugged. His eyes drifted to the door of Doc Worth's place. "Good luck convincing the beast within, though."
"Not a problem!" Hanna said. He bounced up the steps and threw open the door. "Oh Wo-orth!"
A string of incredibly British profanities drifted out from one of the back rooms. "I thought I got rid of you." He emerged, looking even more pissed off than usual.
"Nope!" Hanna grabbed his hand. "Hey, I need you for something!" He managed to drag him all the way to the open front door.
Worth jerked his wrist away. "Look, I'm not going to - oh hell, you too?"
Lamont gave him a casual half-wave. "It'll be half an hour of your precious time, and then you can get back to drinking yourself into a stupor, okay?"
"Bloody - why the hell do I keep you guys around, anyways?" He scowled and pulled his jacket closer around him, but stepped out of the apartment anyways.
"Because you looove us?" Hanna said, linking his arm with Worth's.
"Because you're secretly lonely underneath all that British-ness?" Lamont said, linking up with the other arm.
He grumbled, but allowed himself to be pulled along. "I hate you both."

Olivia was dancing to j-pop in her room when the doorbell rang. Nobody else was home, so she decided she might as well get the door herself.
And when the door swung open...
"Happy birthday, Olivia!" Hanna cheered, practically tackling her in a hug. "Ohmygosh, we're like the same height. And we have the same hair! That is so completely awesome."
Olivia was basically frozen in the spot. She glanced at all of them - they weren't all smiling, but on some of them the annoyed scowls just made it better.
Once Hanna released her, Lamont stepped forward and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you," he said. "Happy birthday!"
This was enough to get past the initial shock and release the fangirl within. She squeed, loudly, and then proceeded to tackle all of them into hugs.
It was the most amazing birthday ever.
