WHAAAAAAT?!!!! That's so mean! Horrible! Right up until the end of "a single moment:" I was expecting something good to happen.

Then "There were men dressed in blue coming up to the house." and my pulse starts pounding, my nerves shooting signal frenetically back and forth, causing my hands to shake- great response you got from me there.
Okay, I'm calm again (sort of), but you really made me feel I was Winry for a second there. I think I'm still getting heart palpitations. You evil (awesome) person, you. Write more please?

It was :D I deliberately wrote it so that you could take it one way or the other. So we can just assume everything works out?

I figured that'd be the answer. xD Despite a reader's natural dislike for cliffhangers (that's the point though, isn't it?) I do like where you cut it off.
