Ooh, this is good! And of course, it explains the last one. ROY CHASES ED ALL THE WAY TO XING TO TELL HIM HE'S SO SO SORRY, AND THAT HE LOVES HIM AND WILL NEVER HURT HIM THIS WAY AGAIN! Amirite?!!?

Though gotta say, now I'm curious as to what's going on in Ed's head to cause him to react this way when Roy needs him to stay. Roy's action- ill-considered as they are- are understandable if you proceed from the supposition that he's barely keeping his head above water and on the edge of his own manner of freakout. But for Ed to lose the will to fight... Yeah, definitely want to know more.

This is such a cool universe. You'll keep writing it, won't you? Even if only in little dribs and drabs like this. It's so very interesting, and I get the sense that there's a whole lot of good story in it.

WHAT IS WITH ME FAILING TO REPLY TO COMMENTS LATELY.

So yeah, I explained Roy's motivations in the last one, but Ed's are still kind of behind the veil. I have an... idea of what's going on in Ed's head. It is related to Roy, and what's happening between them (in my head there is a lot of complicated action here! Ways Roy is failing to support Ed that he doesn't realize, and ways Ed is being obtuse and difficult on purpose and then being hard on Roy for!) and also what's happening in his life that Roy DOESN'T know about or... thinks isn't an issue? THIS UNIVERSE IS SO DENSE AND WEIRD AND YET I CAN SEE ALL THE CHARACTER ACTIONS SO CLEARLY, I DUNNO.

And I haven't even gotten to LING yet.
