Bonnie's Reading

Feb 05, 2006 02:03

Since you mentioned the cards, I did a little reading for you. I asked them which animal had something to show you right now, and I got squirrel in the inverse position. The keyword for squirrel is "gathering", and squirrel is like the boy scout of the animal kingdom in that it "squirrels away" resources for a time when they may be needed - squirrels are always prepared.

In the inverse position it suggests that you look at the flow of resources in your life, for something could either be feeling dissipated or as if you're hoarding it. When squirrel is in balance it works with purpose and has just what it needs at all times, and when it's out of balance its considerable energy is erratic and it dissipates itself.

*[this reminds me of two stories about squirrel, or one fact and one "story": the fact is that squirrels use the same holes to store nuts year after year, turning them periodically ... (look up why, i've forgotten). then there's the urban myth about squirrels who are so focused on storing nuts for the winter that, when they need them, they've forgotten where they are. not likely. think about how this part applies to me

I asked for a little more clarification on how this applies for you, and pulled fox in the inverse position. The keyword for fox is camouflage, and fox is about achieving a healthy balance of being seen and unseen in life. This is figurative as well as literal, and can have to do with how you see yourself as well as how others see you. For example, are you seen by others and by yourself enough to have your needs met? Or are you too visible and exposed in some way, and might do well to camouflage yourself a little?

I think it's excellent confirmation that these two animals are not only right next to each other in the deck, but foxes eat squirrels - it's good to consider other animals with direct relationships to one that speaks to you, as this helps you learn from its challenges, survival techniques, and adaptations to its environment. For example, squirrel has erratic energy precisely because it's a quality that helps it to get away from fox! But when misapplied, erratic energy is destructive ...

So hopefully there's something in there that makes sense to you! I find that the cards are shockingly relevant and astute in addressing my own challenges. For instance, as inverse squirrel could apply to my life today because I've been a little naughty with money (essential oils, of course) I asked for confirmation that I was pulling a card for you and not for myself. What should I pull but hawk in the upright position, which is messenger!
