A New Year begins!

We're having a New Year's party tonight (well, tomorrow, tonight, it's 1:30 am, whatever). I'm FINALLY cleaning my room, despite having to work tomorrow, because I hope to soon have the opportunity, hopefully tomorrow, to make out with a boy in it. Good lord, I am 16 again. This is ridiculously exciting, nerve wracking, worrying, and basically ridiculous. Still, this might be what it takes to finally clean my room. I think I promised to clean the bathroom for the party, too. Fun times at the party to wrap up the holidays, no work on New Year's Day, and then back to the hopefully final-ish stages of the thesis.

So, yeah, said guy and I have kissed maybe 5 times on 2 occasions. There have been 3-4 kind of dates. This has all been very confusing. Somehow got married before having dated! Guy is very nice. Same guy as in post a month ago, pub date on Remembrance Day. Guy seems to be interested. Guy is a very good kisser. Suddenly I am self conscious about my perceived lack of kissing skills. Ridiculous times, folks.

- lunch date at pub after meeting at mutual friends' parties twice during the summer
- attended my soon-to-be-ex-husband's birthday party (and made great conversation with my friends and politely met stbxgh's partner - shows kindness and class)
- Mendel Art Gallery afternoon of art and coffee and chatting, ridiculous awkward kiss in car (very nice and interesting and great art attention span and nice to me even while I was totally spacing out about the art and stream of consciousness thinking)
- visit at my workplace, the love shop, then coffee
- ...New Year's party at my house tomorrow/tonight... if that goes well, invite him to yoga next week maybe?

In other news, I had a great Christmas, people liked the gifts I gave, no I did not give any gifts from the shop, and I received some wonderful bath products from Lush, which I love, and some quilting and craft books, and sock yarn and sock knitting needles (I have already begun my first sock ever), and two books (Scouts in Bondage - Humourous Literary Titles and The Lost Secret or something that is a new mystery book). Got Geoff's gift in the friend gift exchange - great, we have similar taste! - a nice decorative glass lantern with pillar candle inside. Also two necklaces including a small locket that matches a locket that Mom gave herself as a gift from the family. The cats are delighted with the laser toy that Santa brought them. Oh yes, and my brother Chad got me a Munny toy, which is a plain white vinyl action figure / doll thing, vaguely monkey-shaped, about 9" high, that you paint and color and modify. That's cool, it came with 4 mystery accessories which were a rabbit-eared hat, tv, banana, and spatula thing. My parents were delighted with the gift basket of food that Geoff sent and a nice note thanking them for welcoming him into the family and a small card that you can record your voice on. That was a big hit, we hadn't seen those before.

Work a full 8-hour shift tomorrow - early next week is payday, very exciting - then the party. And I will have a clean house and bedroom. Must remember to do the dishes immediately after the party the next day to maintain current trend of clean house 2 full days in a row. Wow.

Had a weird experience on the bus today. Strange, weird guy fondled my shoulder and then kept addressing me as "hey girl" or "Hey, Girl," and apologized for acting weird and tried to give me his phone number and kept telling me, in a really strange and unfocused way, how I was special and he would treat me right. I couldn't tell if he was on drugs or had a mental disability. I politely told him I wasn't interested but he kept talking. Then two security officers came on the bus and took him away without saying anything. Random.
