Has no one wondered what happened to those inside the houses that Ichigo and company made rubble out of during their rampage through Soul Society? 260 words.
Somewhere in the 13th division barracks, a shinigami was making a cup of tea. Tea was good, notably after training. And since he didn’t fancy chasing ryoka, he turned his attention to tea. As the water bubbled cheerily, less pleasant sounds caught his ear; sounds that sounded like...well, sounds, but resembled yelling. Lots of yelling. And crashing. More crashing, which was a bit worrisome.
Turning to his left, he listened with an ear against the wall and decided very wisely to quickly remove himself from that position. Seconds later, he watched the section of the wall where he had been a second prior buckle under the pressure of an enormous blade.

Ichigo dragged his sword from the gash that he had created and charged toward Ikkaku again. He did spare a thought, though.
I hope no one in there got hurt. And I hope I don’t have to pay for that.

Meanwhile, the shinigami inside blinked twice, then three times at the newly carved window in the barracks. Or doorway. Air vent. Hole-in-the-wall, what have you. He then added some tea leaves to a cup. His reaction was far from shock; fourth time that month, after all.
When one was situated across from the 11th division's training grounds, one found it in themselves to become accustomed to such events quite easily.
“Would you like tea?” he asked his bunkmate, who was writing a report on the other side of the room as if nothing had happened. (Which was true, really.)
“I would,” he replied, “had the teapot not been crushed.”
