Hey...it's been a long time.....
Anyways. Spring break was a long time ago...but i can still say that it was fantastic. And then 4 days later we went to Paris for the weekend, and Paris was by far my favorite city out of it, Rome, Milan, and Athens. Aegina doesn't count as a city, since it was a small but very awesome greek island. Too bad we went before tourist season so, sigh, we had to lie on the beach for 2 days. Shame. But we went swimming in the Mediterranean! I'm pretty happy about that. I haven't gotten around to posting all my pictures yet...but yeah.
So then I found Dano in a train station after Paris, don't ask how that one happened, and we rocked out in London for about a week or so. And my birthday was in there!!! Hooray 21!! It's funny, all I had was Bailey's and hot chocolate for alcohol on my birthday, but that was extremely happy. And I ordered my first alcoholic drink in a restaurant 2 days after my birthday...even though I've been legal in England for a while. Oh well, it just adds to the irony. It was a fruit-infested thing from Hard Rock Cafe....which was fantastic, especially when combined when chocolate milkshake. Seriously. Anyways, so the Eagles concert was the best live performance of anything I've ever seen in my life. Ask me about it later and I'll give you the full geek-out rant about it. Pictures also to follow. It was fantastic having him here...he kinda represented all my friends on my birthday, including bringing presents from faraway but very awesome people. =)
And then I got swamped by the Hampstead doing a youth show about Africa and the apartheid during the 60's...yeah...weird....and the last performance should've been tonight for me, but I was otherwise occupied.
Here's the story of my life recently. Last weekend-ish I had a wicked stomachache. (btw one of the most common phrases I hear at work is “wicked”, and the second is “cheers, dude”. I love it) And then Monday I had a stomachache, but more of a dull pain. Which continued through until...the present. Today being Saturday. Or Sunday? And then it moved to sharper pains in my lower-right side of my abdomen...which could've meant the obvious solution of appendicitis. I was very much against having this, but mom and dad seemed to think my symptoms pointed to that, and it certainly felt like i was going to explode. So finally today I broke down and called the national health service hotline, and they recommended me to a walk-in clinic. Needless to say it was full of people, I was treated rudely as an American, and 3 hours later I finally went in. Talked to a nurse for about 10 minutes who was in a hurry, she poked a little bit, took a urine sample, and was pretty convinced i have a urinary infection somewheres in there. I didn't know if this explained the nausea, loss of appetite, and horrible stomachache, but she gave me some antibiotics, which I started taking. So after a million conversations with mom and dad, we figure it's just some awkward infection somewhere inside my stomachal area....and in the meantime, I've been curling up into a small ball and watching movies and drinking juice. Occasionally eating cheerios, but thats about it. Every time I eat I want to throw the food at someone, and then I just don't want to eat anymore. Even water tastes kinda weird. The juice is good, though. I found this awesome juice of apple and raspberries. Sooo good. Apples here are surprisingly good, too, if I have time I'm going to run by some Iranian stand or other..probably won't have time to make it to the markets.
So that's my life currently...I only have 4 more weeks in the semester, which is way f'ing weird. And mom and dad and FRATER!! are showing up in a week...woohoo! It'll be nice to see them but they'll freak out about my stomach and stuff, needlessly, and then frater and i can explode everywhere. Oh, and I told mom about dano coming to london and she thought it was great. It seriously and completely made my day when she was like “oh wow! That's amazing! I bet you were so happy!”...I had a lot of “...?!?!??!! wtf?!??!?!>........????!!!!!!!....” moments while having that conversation, because i was expecting the complete opposite, even though a negative reaction wouldn't've made sense. I love double apostrophes.
Anyways. I don't think many people read anymore....but at least I'll remember things. Maybe. I still have an awful memory. But I love England. I like London and I love the English countryside and I really loved Paris...complicated mess of a city...but totally beautiful. Pictures of that to follow...really....
That's about all for now. Sweet.
