Progress

I've been painting my room for over a week now preparing for my furniture to be delivered. It will be here tomorrow between 1pm and 4pm. This project is taking forever. First I had to prime the whole room which ordinarily isn't that hard except when you're using two different colors. 3 walls and the ceiling are one color (hazelnut cream) and one wall is darker (bison brown) so I had to use different primers. Because the walls join I couldn't paint them both on the same day. Take into account the time it takes to tape everything off and it seems forever.

I finally finished the wall paint yesterday. When I pulled off some of the tape from the door trim it ripped some of the dark paint off, all the way down to the original color. SUCK ASS! I was so pissed! Regardless I had to keep going. Yesterday night I spent awhile re-taping the windows...this time to paint trim. Started that this evening which was ok. So far the damn window trim has taken 2 coats and needs at least one more. The floor trim was a bitch b/c I had to use a drywall knife to pull back the carpet and paint below it, in 10 inch increments. Again...couldn't paint the one wall of trim b/c I can't tape it off with the touch up paint still wet. It needs to sit for at least 24 hours once its done. Floor trim took two coats....I am NOT climbing on the floor another hour for another coat so it'll have to do. I did manage to fix the ripped paint parts. Used one of my tiny art brushes and re-primed then put one coat of the brown on it. Now I'm sitting here tired and sore waiting for the window trim and the touch ups to dry so I can do one more coat and be done with that. After my furniture is delivered tomorrow I'll have to touch up the tiny spots on the ceiling etc where paint leaked over. I'll also have to wait a day or so to tape the brown wall off so I can paint that trim. Then it'll finally be done. I swear...I have no idea how the pro's do a whole house in a day. Ridiculous.

The good part is that after the furniture is delivered and put in place I get to venture out to shop for new bedding. I'm super excited about that. Thinking some nice 500/600 thread count sheets seeing as I felt them on someone else's bed once and felt like I was laying on a cloud. Perhaps also a giant fluffy bright ass white down comforter and maybe a down mattress topper too. I can't wait to sleep in that bad boy. New frame, new mattresses, new bedding....it's gonna be nice. I just hope my bit of perfectionism goes away. Otherwise lying in it I'll see every imperfection in my paint job and drive myself crazy until I fix it. Ha.

There are other things I thought to write about but I think they need to stir in my brain a bit more before I can find the words. Eh...it'll come. For now I'm too tired and paint covered to care. I'll post pics when everything is done.
