Sudden theological realization

Why does salvation go by grace and not by works?
Because the original sin was us thinking we could do it better than God. It was us thinking we could do it on our own.
Trying to fix that sin by our own efforts rather than God’s power is only reiterating that original sin.
The only way to turn away from that sin is to admit that God can do it better than us.
The only way to fix our constant overconfidence in ourselves, our constant weak attempts at usurpation of God's position, is to drop all confidence in our own power and put all our confidence in God’s power.
By accepting God's salvation, we accept and affirm that God, not us, is God.
