(no subject)
i had a fairly decent day off. Howie and I had lunch together and tried to get our marriage license but he lost his SS card and has another one ordered and mine is laminated and they wouldn't take it. They told me that I can use my tax forms since it is a legal document that has my SSN on it. I suppose we shall try again another day, hopefully soon. She said that there were no blood tests needed and it was going to be $50.
I picked up Becca yesterday from school cause she wanted to call dad and ask for money for a car. One of her friend's parents is selling an old car. The body is a 68 Grand Torrino with a 70-something 351 in it. There is really no telling how many miles it has on it. It has no heat, no defrost and the speakers are messed up. It needs a good going over, new plugs and wires, a paint job, interior cleaned (smells like mold) and probably some new tires. The tag has been dead since '98. They want $5,500 for it. It would be a fun car to buy and fix up for car shows but not for a teenager to have as a first car. She needs something better on gas and with a little more saftey to it and a little less power. Not to mention, Dad is broke right now and wouldn't be able to give her the money. I don't really think that he would even if he did have it. Especially with mom already going to buy her a nice, safe, newer model Buick from Bill. Lot better shape. Of course Becca doesn't think so but honestly, I don't think that she should have much of an opinion about it. This is just as dumb of an idea as her getting an apartment on Main St. with her friends. Seems great in theory but in reality, BAD IDEA.
Its getting down to the wire for the wedding. I emailed Alan last night, the chaplain that is supposed to be doing the ceremony so I can get with him and get the ceremony figured out. I need to call the DJ and see if he could do the music for the ceremony also since Ryan isn't pulling through for us on playing the piano for that one, just ONE song. After I get that taken care of, then I will be able to get the programs printed up for the wedding. It's starting to get a little stressful but I'm not going to sweat the small stuff. Its still going to be a beautiful day :)
I just heard on the news that N. Myrtle is burning. I hope that my cousins are ok and that they have a home. I tried to call Melissa and Valerie but neither of them answered the phone or have called me back this morning. I left voicemails to let them know that I was worried about them... I hope that they call me soon.
