It used to really upset me that Macy's bought out Marshal Fields', but a little while ago when I was at the Macy's over on Market Street trying on cocktail dresses I noticed that I can buy FRANGO MINTS all the way in Philadelphia!!! FRANGOS, PEOPLE!!! I was so happy to discover that I can still get that little taste of home. Philadelphia cuisine is crazy. They don't have anything tastey like Frangos, that's for sure. I mean, who takes a perfectly good Italian beef sandwich and then covers it with spray cheese, for corn's sake? Or waters down their sherbet? Or flattens out their pizza until it looks like a bus rolled over it? ::sigh::
I just finished reading Sailor Song by Ken Kesey. It was like Gunter Grass and Hunter S. Thompson came together and had a frighteningly pink-eyed albino book child. Needless to say, I loved it.
