Okay, just a quick note before I scamper off to read the rest of this - but this is a great start, you really get a feel for the setting and a sense of build up.

This first line ... loved it! It told me that I was going to like this story and so far I love it! It has everything.

I do kind of enjoy dropping in those one-liners that could almost use a story of their own. Maybe someday I'll write about that hippie. :)
